PLO Range Explorer & Hand Categories

Explore solved PLO ranges by position, action, hand category, frequency and EV.

The Range Explorer organises solved PLO strategy by position, action and structural hand category. It provides both the high-level frequency mix and the exact combinations behind it.

PLO solver categories showing fold, call and pot frequencies with representative combinations

Start with the full range

The full-range bar shows how often the strategy folds, calls or raises in the selected situation. This gives every category a reference point and prevents an isolated hand from being mistaken for the whole strategy.

Study structural hand categories

Four-card Omaha contains 270,725 distinct starting combinations before suit-isomorphic grouping. Practical learning becomes easier when hands are organised by properties such as pairs, suitedness, connectivity, high-card structure and suited aces.

Expand a category to see how frequently it takes each action and how much of the total hand space it represents.

Inspect exact combinations and EV

Within an expanded category, representative or exact combinations show their action frequencies and EV. This makes it possible to see where a category’s boundary lies and which card interactions change the decision.

Train directly from the category

When a structural group remains difficult, launch a focused drill from the Range Explorer. This links passive range inspection with active recall and repeated decision-making.

Ranges are a map, not the destination

A range explorer is most useful when it helps explain patterns and supports practice. PLO Mentor connects the chart view directly to interactive drills.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Range Explorer show exact frequencies?

Yes. It shows the action mix for the full range, structural categories and individual combinations available in the selected solved spot.

What are PLO hand categories?

They are groups based on properties such as pairedness, suitedness, connectivity, high-card strength and suited aces. Categories make a very large hand space easier to study.

Can I train one category?

Yes. Categories can be used as entry points for targeted drills.

Is the Range Explorer a replacement for training?

It is a complementary tool. Use it to inspect and understand the strategy, then use interactive training to practise making the decisions.
